Association for British Brewery Collectables.
Founded in 1983, the organisation updated its aims in 2003 in line with its members' expanding interests. It represents the interests of breweriana collectors in the UK. Its 150 members meet five times a year to chat, exchange brewery memorabilia, and most of all, drink. The ABBC Newsletter, Whats Bottling, is published every two months, and offers news of interest to collectors, as well as articles on breweriana in general.


Association for British Brewery Collectables complete Bottled Beer Collectors List.
This is the on-line version of the Complete Commemorative Bottled Beer Collectors List,, edited by Richard Lilley, covering all known commemorative bottled beers produced by UK breweries up to the end of 1999. This lists about 4,000 beers, and is arranged in brewery order, so that you can find out what each brewery's output was over the years.


The National Brewery Heritage Trust.
Supports the work of the National Brewery Centre Museum. Their objectives are;

  • To protect and preserve and make available to the public the collection of archives and artefacts of brewing held in the National Brewery Centre (NBC)
  • To maintain and expand the collection and ensure that it remains intact for perpetuity
  • To support educational displays and events which demonstrate the impact of brewing on social and economic development, not just in the United Kingdom but worldwide
  • To promote a greater understanding of the history of brewing;
  • To seek sources of funding as appropriate for repair and restoration of the archive and artefacts.


Hitchmough's Black Country Pubs.
Tony Hitchmough is an authority on pubs of the Black Country. This extensive web site offers a comprehensive listing and description of Black Country pubs and breweries.


The Labologists Society.
The International Society for Label Collectors and Brewery Research. Promotes and disseminates knowledge relating to label collecting.


Zythum; an ale anthology.
Brian Gates has been working in the beer industry for many years. This web site will offer his extensive knowledge on the subject, including reviews, opinions and tastings on the world of beer and brewing. Zythum was an ancient Egyptian beer style.


Brewery History Society.
Covers Brewery History, publishing a Journal and a Newsletter. The Journal tends to contain histories of breweries and changes within the industry while the Newsletter is an informal forum for details of new breweries, brews and general news, and for members to exchange information and queries.


Silver Jubilee and Royal Wedding beers.
A unique web site covering beers produced for the 1977 Queen's Silver Jubilee and the 1981 Royal Wedding, with illustrations and full descriptions, as well as relevant links.


British Brewery Playing Card Society.
Exists primarily to assist the collector of single playing cards from packs in the following categories; breweries, beers, public houses, hotels, wines & spirits, etc., issued by British Breweries or their agents. They also cover British bottling companies, British cider companies and Beers brewed in the UK under licence from foreign breweries, e.g. Budweiser, Castlemaine, Stella, etc.


Hotmog's Victorian Breweriana.
A remarkable site detailing a collection of Victorian handpump handles and related material. Stunning!


The Guinness Collectors Club.
A web site concerned with collecting Guinness. Access to some of the site is by paid subscription. A must for any Guinness collector. Probably the most comprehensive source of Guinness information for the collector.


CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale
A must for anyone who appreciates beer. CAMRA has been described as the most successful consumer movement in Europe. The organisation campaigns for traditional beer. It also publishes the annual Good Beer Guide, organises the National Breweriana Auction, and organises the Great British Beer Festival each year, as well as being involved in many other activities, too numerous to mention.


E-bay's UK site
The UK site of the world's largest on line auction, where you can find loads of breweriana items and other stuff to bid for. E-bay has been instrumental in increasing and improving my collection, more than any other organisation recently. Highly recommended.


British Guild of Beer Writers
Improves standards of beer writing and extends public knowledge of beer. Was formed in 1988 to help spread the word about beers and brewing.


Jug Dealer
Collectors and dealers of jugs and breweriana. A place to buy your collectables from.
